JAKARTA - Instagram, which is owned by Meta Platforms Inc., plans to bring its branded content tool to Threads. This was reported by Axios on Tuesday 11 July, citing sources familiar with the matter.

The tools will help marketers collaborate with influencers in paid partnerships on the social media platform when ads are not available.

Meta, Facebook's parent company, has yet to provide a response to a request for comment from Reuters.

This news comes after Threads, which is considered a competitor to Elon Musk's Twitter, reached 100 million users in five days, a record on the internet so far.

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg has said the company will only think about Threads monetization if there is a clear path to one billion users.

Instagram allows users to move their accounts, credentials, and followers to Threads, granting access to this text-based social media platform to an Instagram user share that reaches more than 2 billion users.

Several companies have started creating accounts on Threads to post content organically, although there are no advertisements on the platform.

However, the lack of hashtag features and keyword search in Threads could limit the appeal of this platform to advertisers
