JAKARTA - Spotify decided to overhaul the appearance of its desktop app, which is designed to provide users with more information about what music is playing, and what they can play next.
"We keep the main content area unchanged, so it will remain your main hub to browse, find, and find recommended songs and podcasts," Spotify said in its official blog, quoted Wednesday, June 21.
"However, you will also find some new additions to help align our Desktop experience with mobile apps," he added.
The company has added a new Your Library on the left side of the app display, so users can quickly access saved music and podcast collections. This makes it easier for users to switch between playlists.
"Defaultly, you'll see your Extended Library look. But if you just want to see the playlist icon, you just need to click the Your Library button in the upper right corner to shrink the library," Spotify said.
Users can also move and embed playlists in the Library, as well as release songs into editable playlists.

"We want this experience to match the way you listen, which is why Your Library and Now Playing can be changed to make up for more or less screens," Spotify said.
In fact, users can find more information about songs, artists, dates for tours and merchandise on Now Playing, making it easier for users to connect with their favorite artists. For certain podcasts, users can even follow the transcript while listening.
Furthermore, Spotify also moved the Teman Activity feed which can be accessed via the Teman icon next to the profile picture, in the upper right corner of the main content area.
