JAKARTA - D-Link Corporation, a global leader in designing and developing networking and connectivity products, announced joining the Metaverse Standards Forum as the first participant of the networking equipment industry.

The Metaverse Standards Forum is a newly formed regulatory agency aimed at promoting priority alignment and requirements for the Metaverse Interoperability Standard.

Companies and organizations participating in the basic standards will be the foundation for an open Metaverse. As a major member, D-Link will coordinate with Standards Development Organizations (SDO) from various industries to accelerate the implementation of the Metaverse Standard.

According to a recent study from Gartner, 25 percent of people will spend at least an hour per day on the Metaverse to work, shop, education, social and/or entertainment, and 30 percent of organizations in the world will have products and services ready for the Metaverse by 2026.

The Metaverse Standards Forum is also expected to be able to drive the evolution of the Metaverse, one of the main issues in its early stages of development, is interoperability.

"Metaverse is a place where humans from various cultures interact through immersive experiences in the virtual world. To realize its full potential, the Metaverse must be built above open standards with interoperability and consistency to unite various domains," said CJ Chang, CEO of D-Link Corporation in a written statement.

Chang also intends to collaborate with partners from various industries to make Metaverse a better experience for all parties through standardization.
