BeReal Launches RealPeople, A Timeline That Highlights Famous People

JAKARTA - Social media platform BeReal announced the launch of its new feature called RealPeople, the timeline curated by the most interesting people in the world, ranging from top athletes, artists, activists, and so on.

"RealPeople is our next step in trying to help bring all the things we enjoy about the human experience that is connected," the BeReal team wrote in an announcement on its official website.

Like everyone else on BeReal, users displayed on the RealPeople timeline will be asked to leave everything and take a snapshot of their lives with cell phone selfies and rear cameras as the app sends them notifications at some point during the day.

According to the company, this feature allows people who appear on the RealPeople timeline to offer "real views without filters" into their daily lives.

"We believe that we are all just ordinary people. We are all all equally interesting and boring. RealPeople will show here and now it doesn't matter who you are," the company added.

As usual, the company launched testing of the RealPeople feature for users in the UK first, while forecasting its full launch in the coming days, to all users.

To access RealPeople, you just need to open the Discovery tab, select RealPeople, and enjoy it. At the launch later, you will be able to interact with posts on the RealPeople timeline by responding to posts, hiding posts, and reporting posts.
