Facebook Adds Gaming Ability on Video Calls in Messenger

JAKARTA - Facebook Gaming announced that now users can play their favorite games during video calls on Messenger, with friends or family.

According to Meta, this ability will allow you to deepen relationships with friends and family by engaging in conversations and playing games at the same time.

Currently, Meta has added 14 free games that support different numbers of players, which can already be played during Messenger video calls on iOS, Android, and the web, with no need to install games first.

"Games include a mix of new titles, such as Card Wars by Bombay Play and Exploding Kittens by Coatsink as well as some fan favorites such as Mini Golf FRVR by FRVR and Words With Friends by Zynga," explains Meta in the announcement.

If you want to try playing any of these titles, start a video call with someone on Messenger, then tap the group mode button in the middle, then click the "Play" icon and start exploring your game library.

"We know games are an important and fun way for people to connect with the people they care about and make new friends, so we're looking to bring more free games to the platform later this year," the company added.

Additionally, Meta also provides an opportunity for interested developers to integrate this feature into their games, so developers should contact their Partner Manager for details.
