Leveraging GPT-4 Technology, Duolingo Launches Duolingo Max Subscription

JAKARTA - AI technology is now increasingly loved by technology companies around the world. Moreover, now GPT-4 technology appears, which is the successor technology to the new and claimed to be more sophisticated Generative OpenAI model.

Not wanting to be left behind the others, the online learning platform Duolingo is now starting to take advantage of GPT-4 to make the learning process more powerful, by launching Duolingo Max.

"Duolingo Max is a new subscription tier on top of Super Duolingo that gives students access to two new features and exercises: Explain My Answer and Roleplay," the company said in its announcement, quoted Wednesday, March 15.

Through a months-long collaboration with OpenAI, the company says that both features are powered by the latest and most advanced generative AI technologies that allow you to further enhance your learning experience.

The Explain My Answer feature allows you to learn more about your answers in the lesson, whether they are correct or incorrect. When you're done studying, you can enter a chat room with Duo to get explanations regarding why their answers were right or wrong, and examples or further explanations.

Meanwhile, the Roleplay feature allows you to practice real-world conversation skills with characters in the application. By doing these challenges, you will earn XP.

While you may not actually be conversing with a live human, the AI ​​behind this feature is responsive and interactive, meaning no two conversations are exactly the same.

After an interaction, students also get AI-powered feedback from Duo on the accuracy and complexity of their responses, as well as tips for future conversations.

While Duolingo Max is available to everyone, the only courses that can take advantage of the new feature are Spanish and French for English speakers on iOS.

However, the company hopes that it will soon be able to roll it out to more courses and platforms for all users wherever they are.
