JAKARTA - A player from the Indonesian DOTA 2 national team, Randy Muhammad "Dreamocel" Sapoetra hopes that the victory of the Merah Putih team in the IESF Bali 14th World Esports Championship 2022 can give a new color to the regeneration of DOTA 2 players in Indonesia.

"The hope is definite regeneration. But, I see a lot of regeneration, so I'm very happy with the current scene," Dreamocel said after defeating the Philippines to win the title in Merusaka, Nusa Dua, Bali, Saturday, December 10.

The 24-year-old player also hopes that there will be more DOTA 2 amateur tournaments so that he can increase the regeneration of athletes. Even though he has become a professional player with experience competing in various international tournaments, Dreamocel has no intention of becoming a coach.

"I want to (become a coach), that's all for later... But, for the next time I will become a player. I'm a very competitive person, I always see my own mistakes, and what can be fixed," said Dreamocel, quoted by Antara.

Indonesia managed to win the title after defeating the Philippines 3-2 in a thrilling final match Saturday afternoon. The two teams actually met in an upper bracket match when the Philippines threw Indonesia to fight in the lower bracket.

"This is an achievement, in our event as hosts we were able to present first place for Indonesia. Thank you to the government for supporting it," said DOTA 2 national team coach, Adit Rosenda.

Until Saturday afternoon, Indonesia won one gold and one bronze from the CS:GO women's national team in the IESF Bali 14th World Esports Championship 2022.

Indonesia still has the chance to win two gold medals through Indonesia's national eFootball player Elga Cahya Putra, who will compete in the grand final on Saturday night, as well as the Mobile Legends: Bang-Bang national team who will compete on Sunday, December 11.
