PCF And Take-Two Interactive Collaboration Ends, Dagger Project Will Be Published Independently

JAKARTA - Take-Two Interactive has terminated its publishing deal with Outsiders Developer regarding a project called Project Dagger, a new action adventure IP, which has been in development for the past 2 years.

"PCF Group S.A. (People Can Fly) has confirmed through a current report released on September 23, 2022, that it has received a letter from Take-Two Interactive to terminate the development and publishing agreement through mutual understanding between the parties," PCF wrote in its announcement. .

People Can Fly said that while terms for prepayment settlements and the like have not been agreed, Take-Two has not exercised its option to retain ownership of the IP, meaning Polish developer People Can Fly retains full ownership of the project and remains fully responsible for its production. .

People Can Fly confirmed that the title is still in pre-production, with the current plan being to self-publish it when it's ready for release later.

"I assume we'll part ways on good terms, and I see no reason why we wouldn't be able to work with Take-Two on some of the other projects in the future," said Sebastian Wojciechowski, CEO of People Can Fly.

In addition, Wojciechowski strongly believes in the potential of Project Dagger and is now committed to continuing its development on a studio self-publishing path.

"The game is still in pre-production, our team is now focused on closing battles and game rounds and migrating from UE4 to UE5. I am aware that this decision will add investment to us, but self-publishing is part of our strategy," he continued.

Project Dagger is one of seven projects at People Can Fly currently in the works. There's also Gemini, a new project with Square Enix, Projects Bifrost, and Victoria. Both titles will be released in a self-publishing model.

People Can Fly upholds its recently updated strategy of letting the Group release one game each year developed by the Group either in collaboration with a publisher or on a self-publishing model starting from 2024.
