Music Revenue Sharing Is A New Way For Content Creators To Make Money From Facebook Videos

JAKARTA - Meta introduces a new feature called 'Music Revenue Sharing', which allows content creators to monetize their videos on Facebook.

According to the company's announcement, this new monetization feature allows content creators to use licensed music from popular artists in their Facebook videos and earn a share of in-stream ad revenue.

But, before doing so, Meta asks you to check the eligibility of in-stream ads first.

How to Check the Eligibility of Your In-Stream Ads on Facebook

Make sure your language and country are on the in-stream ad supported list. According to VOI monitoring, Indonesian and Indonesian languages ​​are supported to add in-stream ads. So, for content creators in Indonesia, follow the steps below to check the monetization eligibility on your account.

Open Creator Studio.

Click Monetization > Policy Issues in the left menu to review the monetization status of your Page.

How to Check Eligibility and Onboarding to In-stream Ads

Once you meet the eligibility requirements above, follow these steps to onboard your in-stream ads:

1. Open Creator Studio
2. Click Monetization on the left of the menu to review the eligibility status of In-Stream Ads for Live for Pages
3. If eligible, click Set up
4. Choose Your Page
5. Read the terms and conditions, then click Agree to Terms
6. Set up your payment account
7. Submit your Page for review

How Music Revenue Sharing Works

If you've checked your account's eligibility to add in-stream ads, video creators will receive a 20% revenue-sharing commission on eligible videos, with a separate share going to music and Meta rights holders.

Music Revenue Sharing will start rolling out today to video creators globally, starting in the US, and then expanding to the rest of the world.
