Record Break! Sam Kerr Becomes The First Female Footballer To Be On The Global Cover Of FIFA 23

JAKARTA - Electronic Arts (EA) revealed that Australian soccer player Sam Kerr is the first female athlete to be on the cover of an international FIFA game and appear in the Ultimate Edition of FIFA 23, along with Kylian Mbappé from France.

First Female Soccer Athlete

Sam Kerr or the owner of the real name Samantha May Kerr is the first female soccer player whose character is on the cover of a FIFA game.

Not without reason, the Chelsea Women striker was chosen to be the cover because Kerr won the golden boot in the 2021/2022 FA Women's Super League competition.

Kerr also managed to score the most goals. The proof, throughout last season, she managed to score 20 goals against the opponent.

Although in previous BBC reports there have been female footballers featured on the cover of FIFA 16, Alex Morgan from the United States and Christine Sinclair from Canada are only the regional covers of the North American edition. In contrast to Kerr who became the cover of FIFA 23 globally.

FIFA 23 will be the final title of the partnership between FIFA and EA, which decided to end its partnership last May.

With the end of FIFA 23 later, EA will start a new era of football games with the title EA Sports FC which will begin in July 2023.
