Kaleidoscope 2024: The Five Latest Hybrid Cars That Attract Attention In The Indonesian Market And Prices

JAKARTA - The year 2024 is a moment where single-agent brand holders (ATPM) introduce a number of their latest vehicles that have the latest technology, including hybrids.

hybrid cars are an interesting alternative because they combine the performance of gasoline engines and electric drivers.

In the 12-month period this year, there are several choices of the latest hybrid cars that have attracted the attention of national automotive lovers. Anything? Here's the list based on VOI's search.

MG VS HEV

In March, MG Motor Indonesia officially presented VS HEV as the first hybrid vehicle from this manufacturer in Indonesia.

This compact-shaped car has a modern design with an "Electrified Matrix" themed grip on the front with a striking blue accent while reflecting that the SUV is a hybrid vehicle.

Talking about performance, this car is equipped with a 1.5 liter 4-cylinder engine combined with electric motors and lithium-ion batteries, resulting in a peak power of 177 ps and a 200 Nm torque. The manufacturer claims VS HEV has fuel consumption of up to 25 km/l.

This SUV has officially marked its debut in the country market with a price tag of Rp. 389 million On The Road DKI Jakarta.

Toyota Prius HEV

PT Toyota-Astra Motor (TAM) expanded its hybrid vehicle line on the Indonesian market by launching the Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) Prius at the 2024 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) last July.

Built on the TNGA-C platform, the car has a fine design with unique headlights as well as a shark-like muzzle, resembling the latest generation bZ4X and Camry models.

This car is equipped with a 4-cylinder 1.8-liter engine powered by 72 kW and a 142 Nm torque and a hybrid driver of a 70 kW electric motor and a 185 Nm torque. According to TAM, the HEV Prius has a high fuel efficiency of up to 30 km/l.

This fifth generation of primers is set at a price of IDR 698 million on The Road DKI Jakarta.

Kia Carnival Hybrid

Automotive manufacturer from South Korea, Kia also participated in the competition for hybrid cars in Indonesia by introducing Carnival Hybrid at the 2024 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) exhibition.

Present through ATPM PT Cretaceous Indo Artha, this obil is based on Carnival facelift which was launched in Indonesia at the end of last May. What distinguishes it is, of course, this model is a hybrid drive that is known to have the ability to reduce the amount of carbon emissions.

The performance is supported by a 1.6 liter TGDI Smartstream engine combined with electric motors and six automatic acceleration transmissions, thus offering a peak power of 241 dk and a torque of 367 Nm. The manufacturer claims this MPV has fuel consumption of up to 25 km/l to 30 km/l.

Entering the premium MPV segment in the country, Kia Carnival Hybrid is pegged at IDR 1.388 billion On The Road DKI Jakarta.

GWM Haval Jolion AV

The automotive manufacturer from China, Great Wall Motor (GWM) officially started its steps in the Indonesian automotive market by introducing a hybrid line, one of which is Haval Jolion HEV.

The SUV has a compact as well as modern design with a T-Shaped DaggerACK LED headlamp, Boomerang LED tail light, and a Star Matrix grille, reflecting a modern lifestyle.

The car is equipped with an innovative 1.5 liter 4-cylinder L.E.M.O.N engine that can provide peak power of up to 186 dk. Meanwhile, Haval Jolion HEV has a fuel consumption of about 14 km/l.

Launched at the GIIAS 2024 event, GWM Haval Jolion was officially sold in Indonesia for IDR 405 million On The Road DKI Jakarta. Not only that, the car is a local assembled at the Wanaherang facility, Bogor owned by Inchcape.

Hyundai All-New Santa Fe HEV

Hyundai Motors Indonesia (HMID) officially entered the hybrid market in Indonesia by marketing the all-new Santa Fe HEV last October. This car comes with radical changes compared to the previous generation, especially in the exterior.

The fifth generation of Santa Fe has a more solid look at each corner. The front looks more dashing with LED headlights in the form of a typical 'H'. From the front to the back, the SUV offers a 'boxy' design. Thus, this car can attract the attention of national automotive lovers or observers.

This car is available with a hybrid option with a G1.6T-GDI turbo hybrid Smartstream engine that provides a maximum power of 235 ps. All-new Santa Fe has an efficient fuel consumption of about 20 km/l.

Speaking of prices, the all-new Santa Fe variant of HEV is pegged starting from IDR 786.3 million for Prime and IDR 869.6 million for Calligraphy. Not only that, this segment-D SUV is a local assembled product at the Cikarang factory, West Java owned by Hyundai Motors Manufacturing Indonesia (HMMI)
