JAKARTA - The inaugural GIIAS 2023 event in Bandung was officially opened this Wednesday, November 22 which took place until November 26 by displaying a variety of vehicles with the latest technology.

In his remarks, the General Chairperson of Gaikindo, Yohannes Nangoi, expressed his highest appreciation to the Ministry of Industry for the direction, support, and policy for the Indonesian automotive industry, especially the growth of the automotive industry in West Java.

"This year Gaikindo realized the target to continue to expand the scope of the GIIAS The Series, and added West Java as the venue for the GIIAS exhibition this year," said Nangoi, as quoted in an official statement received by VOI, Wednesday, November 22.

The inaugural GIIAS Bandung 2023 event is also fully supported by the brands of Gaikindo members who carry the latest superior products and technology, including electric-based vehicles.

Representing the Indonesian Minister of Industry, Taufiek Bawazier, Director General of ILMATE said that GIIAS The Series is a series of automotive exhibitions from GAIKINDO which are present in strategic cities in Indonesia. GIIAS Bandung 2023 is the 4th city as well as the closing city of the GIIAS The Series 2023 series which was successfully held in August in Tangerang, September in Surabaya and October in Semarang," said Taufiek.

A total of 18 motorized vehicle brands from various industrial lines participated in GIIAS Bandung 2023, including 15 passenger vehicle brands and 3 motorcycle brands. This event also involved various other automotive supporting industries to enliven and encourage the development of the latest automotive industry for the people of West Java.

The opening of GIIAS this time was attended directly by the Director General of Metal, Machinery, Transportation Equipment, and Electronics (ILMATE) of the Ministry of Industry, Taufiek Bawazier, who was accompanied by the Head of the West Java Bapenda, Dedi Taufik, Chairman of Commission III of the West Java DPRD, Phinera Wijaya, General Chairperson of GAIKINDO, Yohannes Nangoi, and the Head of the GAIKINDO Exhibition Organizer, Rizwan Alamsjah, who officially opened GIIAS Bandung 2023 which will last until 26 November 2023 at the Sudirman Grand Ballroom.
