JAKARTA - Mercedes-Benz and ChargePoint have opened an electric vehicle charging center in North America, as part of a plan that has been announced since January 2023.

This location supports all electric vehicle (EV) brands that use CCS1 and NACS connectors.

Reporting from Carnewschina, Thursday, November 16, ChargePoint technology allows some electric vehicles to cover costs from 10-80 percent in less than 20 minutes, depending on the architecture of the vehicle platform. This marks significant progress in charging speed, supporting more efficient electric mobility.

"The Mercedes-Benz Charging Line expands global charging options for customers of various electric vehicle brands, encouraging environmentally friendly mobility," said Franz Reiner, Chairman of the Board of Mercedes-Benz Mobility AG.

Reiner emphasized the North American Mercedes-Benz strategy which focuses on electric vehicles and increases charging infrastructure.

"This effort will facilitate wider adoption of electric vehicles in North America and globally," he added.

Mercedes-Benz is also providing incentives to current EQ owners by offering six months of free charging at the charging hub, while EQ EV drivers for the 2024 model will enjoy unlimited free charging for two years.
