JAKARTA - PT Hyundai Motors Indonesia (HMID) officially presents the latest EV charging station located in Starbucks Adhyaksa, Lebak Bulus, Jakarta. This initiative is the company's commitment to expand infrastructure for EVs throughout Indonesia.

"We hope that EV Fast Charging Station in Starbucks Adhyaksa will further finalize the electric vehicle ecosystem in Indonesia for better mobility solutions and added value for consumers," said Franciscus Soerjopranoto, COO of PT HMID, in a statement received by VOI, Tuesday, October 31.

Just like other Hyundai chargers, these facilities can be used both for Hyundai EV users and from other manufacturers. The charging station is a DC CCS2 charger type capable of charging up to 47 kW.

The facility provides two fast charging units, so cafe visitors don't have to wait or fight for a place to charge their EVs. The fast charger is claimed to be able to charge an Ioniq 5 for one hour.

Previously, the manufacturer had presented EV charging stations at 52 mall locations which were the result of partnerships with PT Lippo Malls Indonesia. Furthermore, HMID has also provided the first Ultra-Fast Charging Station in Indonesia located at Plaza Indonesia, Jakarta.

With this step, HMID has formed a wider electric vehicle ecosystem throughout Indonesia. Hyundai has built more than 200 charging stations across the country, covering various types of charging, ranging from AC types, DC types, to Ultra Fast Charging.

Meanwhile, another step in EV development is that the company plans to mass assemble the Hyundai battery and battery cell systems in Indonesia starting in April 2024. Thus, the EV price that will be offered by the manufacturer will be much more affordable in the future.
