JAKARTA - Routines heat motorcycles before use are often carried out by motorists. However, what needs to be emphasized is that the process does not actually take long.

Budiman, Service Advisor for Yamaha Harapan Motor Beji, Depok, explained that the time needed was not long.

"It takes about 5-10 minutes, especially on motorbikes that still use carburetors. This is necessary to restore normal circulation because gasoline tends to drop when kept quiet overnight," he told VOI, Friday, October 20.

He also emphasized that motorcycle engines that already use the injection system in the latest version also still need heating in the morning.

"The engine on the injection motor needs to be heated so that the tilt angle sensor (Lean Angle Sensor) can function properly, especially when the temperature reaches 80 degrees," he added.

For information, Lean Angle Sensor is a safety feature that automatically turns off the engine when the motorbike falls, taking into account the safe engine temperature limit.

In addition, another function of warming is to optimize the circulation of oil. When the motor was quiet overnight, the position of the oil tended to be at the bottom. In the analogy provided, heating the engine in the morning before use is similar to giving lubricants to the engine to avoid wearables that can occur if the oil is uneven.

Budiman also recommended heating the engine at RPM 1500 or in a stationary condition, without pulling the gas.

"Piston worked well in the 1500 RPM round without experiencing excessive burden," he concluded.
