JAKARTA - The 2023 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) will become a platform for automotive manufacturers in Indonesia to market and launch their newest products.

In addition to being the largest automotive event in Southeast Asia, GIIAS 2023 will provide a variety of products for visitors, with the aim of meeting the mobility needs of the community.

PT Honda Prospect Motor (HPM) will also take part in GIIAS 2023. At the event, PT HPM will present the theme "Energize to Accelerate" by presenting the latest models and features.

According to Yulian Karfili, PT HPM Senior Strategy Communication Manager, Honda was present at GIIAS this year with a different approach and offer from before.

"At GIIAS 2023, Honda will appear with a concept that is completely different from the previous year. We will present the leading technologies in the field of electrification, connectivity and safety," said Yulian during a media meeting at JW Marriott, Jakarta, on Thursday, July 13.

Honda's theme is in line with the concept of "Future Now" adopted by GIIAS 2023. In addition, Honda will also introduce several environmentally friendly models, such as hybrid and electric cars. They will also feature high-efficiency gasoline-fueled cars.

During GIIAS 2023, Honda will showcase five models with electrification technology, including several models that will first be launched in Indonesia.

"Honda will present five special showcases for cars based on electrification, including several models that were first present in Indonesia," said Yulian.

During the exhibition, Honda will also introduce one of the vehicles that is likely to be marketed in Indonesia, although further details have not been disclosed by HPM.

"Honda will also launch one of its newest products," added Yulian.

Honda's decision to bring several electrification models to Indonesia is in line with their commitment to the global market to achieve sales of 100 percent electric-based vehicles by 2040.

GIIAS 2023 will be held on August 10-20 2023 at ICE BSD, Tangerang. The entire exhibition area at ICE BSD will be opened for this event, in contrast to previous years which only partially opened up.
