JAKARTA - The Dakar rally is one of the most challenging racing events in the world. The participants had to cross various difficult terrains that crossed thousands of kilometers and crossed various countries to quickly reach the finish line.

In preparation for this challenge, the car manufacturer from Romania, Dacia, has taken a step forward. Recently, Dacia announced her involvement in the World Rally-Raid Championship (W2RC), one of which was the Dakar rally.

Dacia plans to participate in the competition in 2025 and will compete in the T1+ class, which is the main class in the championship. They will work closely with Britain's independent racing team, Prodrive, in their car development.

Denis Le Vot, CEO of Dacia, said that this competition and the Dakar rally were not only true testing for car manufacturers, but also Dacia's commitment to low-emissioned vehicles.

"We are very pleased to be participating in the Dakar rally with synthetic fuel technology. Together with the best team and racers, Dacia is a serious competitor in this rally," Denis said in Dacia's official statement on Monday, July 3.

Dacia and Prodrive will develop a prototype car using synthetic fuel provided by Saudi Arabia's Aramco company.

In line with Dacia's vision, Aramco will provide synthetic fuels that combine renewable hydrogen with CO2 to produce low emission fuel.

In addition to the announcement of Dacia's participation in the Dakar rally, the car manufacturer, which is part of the Renault Group, also announced the presence of Sebastien Loeb, the WRC world champion 9 times, and experienced female racer in this event, HAN Gutierrez H Way, as their main racer.

With Dacia joining this challenging rally competition, they will be competing with other major manufacturers by 2025, such as Audi, Ford, Mini, and Toyota.
