JAKARTA - To increase efficiency and practicality in the use of electric vehicles, General Motors (GM) presents three packages of Ultium Home.

The parent company Chevrolet, Cadillac, and GMC launched this technology with the aim of utilizing the vehicle-to-home (V2H) feature of its flagship electric vehicles, such as Chevrolet Silverado EV.

Through GM Energy, Ultium Home offers two-way V2H charging, stationary energy storage, and energy management solutions, similar to Tesla's Powerwall. GM offers three choices of the GM Energy Ultium Home package, namely the V2H Bundle, Energy System Bundle, and Energy Storage Bundle.

One of the highlights is the Energy Storage Bundle developed by GM. This package provides secondary energy sources at home, even for those who don't have electric cars.

Reporting from CarBuzz, on Sunday, July 2, this package is equipped with a PowerBank GM which can store energy for the use of mobile phones and is available in variants 5 kW/10.6 kWh and 7 kW/17.7 kWh.

Energy stored in the power bank can be used during a power outage, thus functioning as a modern generator. Thus, users of this package need not worry when there is a sudden power outage, because they can use stored energy for their respective needs.

The V2H Bundle allows GM electric car owners who are compatible with this feature to take advantage of V2H charging technology. This is possible through V2H Enable Kit, which includes inverters, home hubs, and battery charging. GM explained that this kit safely separates homes from power grids while providing up to 9.6 kW of power.

The package is also equipped with PowerShift GM Charger, which offers air conditioning speeds of up to 19.2 kW, as part of an American automaker's efforts to expand access to electric vehicle charging.

Finally, there is the Energy System Bundle of Ultium Home which combines V2H functionality with stationary energy storage, namely PowerBank. PowerBank GM can connect to V2H Enable Kit to expand the backup capability when there is a power outage from the network.

Each Ultium Home package is connected to GM Energy Cloud, a software platform that allows customers to manage energy transfer remotely.
