JAKARTA - BMW has plans to launch a new platform for electric car (EV) models in the next few years, known as Neue Classe. The platform is expected to be one of the most technologically sophisticated BMW has ever made.

With the arrival of this new platform, it is hoped that the latest generation of electric cars will be equipped with cutting-edge technology.

Although not yet officially launched, BMW has leaked some of the features that the platform will offer.

Reporting from CarBuzz, June 27, in the upload of the BMW Group's Facebook page, it appears that one of the features that will be present is augmented reality driving.

Augmented Reality Driving is a visual display that appears when the car is driving. The Panoramic Vision system with the Neue Classe iDrive user interface will take advantage of the front glass width to display information about driving.

This display will lengthen slightly on the windshield without interruption. The information displayed includes driving mode, current speed, location, and time.

Although the display ahead provides various information about the condition of the car, BMW is likely to keep the conventional head-up display (HUD) at the front.

Although it can help drivers, traditional HUD measures are limited so that the amount of information displayed is also limited, usually only displaying small information such as speed, navigation direction, speed limit, or other important elements.

No doubt, this technology will be applied to models with future Neue Classe platforms, providing a different driving experience.

BMW has also promised that the models to be introduced between 2025 and 2027 will use the latest platform. BMW will introduce the Neue Classe platform by 2025 as the first step for its electric car lineup.
