Sales Rise Rapidly, Chery Strengthens Positions In Global Markets

Chery International, an automotive company from China, continues to show a positive trend in the sale of its products and is now strengthening its position in the global market.

Shawn Xu, President of PT Chery Sales Indonesia, revealed that the Chery Group has managed to seize an extraordinary market share in the global automotive industry and has been an exporter of passenger cars from China for more than two decades.

However, the historical sales figure will be in 2022 by posting sales of 450,000 units, growing by 67 percent (yoy).

"In the future, Chery International has projected to expand its presence in the ASEAN region and other right-handed steering markets and has drawn up a comprehensive market penetration plan, targeting countries such as South Africa, Indonesia, Australia, Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei, Thailand and England," Shawn said.

Currently, continued Shawn, South Africa's Chery has achieved significant success by ranking 7th in the passenger car market, while Chery Indonesia will become a production center.

PT Chery Sales Indonesia (CSI) has also prepared a CKD assembly equipped with body painting and will start full CDK in October 2023.

By 2024, CSI targets to reach a 40 percent localization rate and start exports in the second half of this year. In addition, CSI is also focused on expanding its dealers' network by the end of this year.
