JAKARTA - Former guitarist and co-founder of M\"otley Cr\"ie, Mick Mars, shared the news about his debut solo album The Other Side Of Mars by releasing the single Loyal To The Lie.

The news about this upcoming solo project marks the musician's first new music since he left the Motley Crue line-up in October last year, following his fight against Ankylosing Spondylitis (AS).

Released October 31 yesterday, Mars shared the main single of his upcoming solo album. The song is centered on its incredible riffs, feeling heavier than - except for the 1994 album - the album-album M\"otley Cr\"ie.

In the song, Jacob Bunton contributes vocals to Mars.

The song also comes with a new music video that fits Halloween's spirit, featuring a picture of the classic horror film and the famous serial killer picture.

Discussing the title behind his upcoming album, the 72-year-old explained that the title refers to two different sides of his playing style: the side of M\"otley and the side of Mars.

"I've always had a very clear vision of what I want to do," he said, then talked about his plans for more music even after his debut album.

"There's a lot of ideas I have, I don't want to call it 'left', but that's how it is, you know what I mean? I've always been feeling, I might get some fans, I might lose some fans. But what they hear, it's all me," he explained

Apart from Mars and Bunton, the album features and former keyboardists Winger and Alice Cooper - Paul Taylor, Ray Luzier of Korn (drums), as well as bassist Chris Collier and singer Brion GamBOa recruited by Mars for more angsty (cheating) songs.

I'm trying to keep on developing, said Mars about the motivation to pursue solo projects. Because if you stop learning new things, if you stop playing new things, if you close your mind, then end you. You have to keep moving and creating!"

The Other Side Of Mars will be released February 23, 2024, through a label belonging to guitarist 1313, LLC, in collaboration with MRI.
