Dee Snider Supports Israeli Troops Make We're Not Gonna Take It Call For War

JAKARTA - Dee Snider of Twisted Sister responded to the Israeli Defense Force (IDF) playing the hit band, We're Not Gonna Take It.

Upon arriving at Los Angeles International Airport on a trip, TMZ asked Snider for an opinion on the IDF using the 1984 Twisted Sister song.

"Did you know? Attacks on Israel, people lose their eyes on something. People say, 'Oh, the response given is too harsh compared to what happened.' Yes, you can't decide on the response when you do heinous things to civilians. You can't say, 'Oh, that's enough, that's enough, that's enough as retaliation'," Snider opened.

No, it's not like that. When you cross that line, you burn people, you slaughter people, you rape people, you kill people after what happens at the festival, you can't say, 'Okay, your revenge can be this much.' No. Retaliation is a big sacrifice. And I came from that school. You crossed that line, you know... bad things will happen," he continued.

Snider added that he likes the military and teachers to use the song.

"I am blessed that I can realize my dream because we have people who voluntarily protect our country, protect their country, and when I hear that they are using my song, they allow me to write down the song, because they defend our freedom," I said, loudly and proudly. Sing, friends, "he told TMZ.

When asked to clarify whether he agrees with the IDF using the song We're Not Gonna Take It as their war call, Snider said: Oh, of course (I agree)

Snider also explains the song and the goal is to use it as a war call. I wrote a song 40 years ago that I didn't expect to be a people's song all this time. However, I deliberately wrote it so that anyone could put their situation into it. So I never stop people from using it because it was a sensor, and I struggled against sensors in the 80s. It was designed so people can use it as a call for their war. And I have those on the left who use it, I have the right to use it, I have sporting events that use it, I have children who use it. So it's beautiful."

He continued: But when someone defends something I'm not fighting for and it reflects that on me, I will speak and say I'm not trying to stop them from using it, I'm just saying I condemn the use of the song... And people love the blessing of the songwriter. So, [if] you use my song, fight for something, fight for something good, fight for something right. Don't defend lies and nonsense because too much is happening right now.

As previously reported, in early October Hamas launched an early-day attack on southern Israel which then sparked an Israeli-Hamas war.
