JAKARTA - The legendary rock group The Eagles announced a farewell tour across North America.

The Eagles will start a series of shows titled 'The Long Goodbye' at Madison Square Garden in New York on September 7 ahead of their next show in Boston (11 September), Marijuana (16) and Elmont, New York (20).

Followed in early October, the group's final tour will then visit Denver, Indianapolis, Detroit, Cleveland, and Atlanta before additional stops in other cities throughout November.

'The Long Goodbye' will feature The Eagles - consisting of Don Henley, Joe Walsh, Timothy B. Schmit, Vince Gill and forced Frey - where according to a press release will show as many shows in each market as per viewer's request.

The tour is expected to continue into 2025, but the next date probably including Britain and Europe has not been announced.

The Eagles, which will mark their more than 50 years of careers with concerts, will be backed by Steely Dan on all confirmed dates.

Tickets will go public at 10 am local time next Friday (14 July). Or, fans can access pre-sale and VIP packages starting Wednesday (12 July).

In a joint statement, the band said: The Eagles have had a magical 52-year odyssey, appearing for people around the world; keeping music alive in the face of tragic loss, upheaval, and setbacks of various kinds. Awards and thanks to our old management team, our dedicated road crew, and our amazing backup musicians for providing skilled and steadfast support, over the years.

"We know how lucky we are, and we are really grateful. Our long term has lasted much longer than we ever dreamed of. But, it's all about time, and the time has come for us to close the circle."

The Eagles continue to confirm that their farewell tour is "in the planning stage", adding: "We want to give all our fans the opportunity to see us in this final round."

They also confirmed that the concert would be announced according to the set date, before highlighting the difficulty of ordering venues for some points due to the high demand.

"But, we hope to see as many of you as possible, before we finish," the group continued.

"The most important thing is, we are grateful from the bottom of our hearts for embracing us and our music. In the end, you are the reason we have been able to survive for more than five decades. This is our last appearance, but the music continues.
