Almost Two Years On Hiatus, BLACKPINK Is Ready To Come Back With ‘Pink Venom’

JAKARTA - K-pop idol group BLACKPINK will release Pink Venom. The song is the opening track from his upcoming second studio album, on August 19.

The upcoming album will mark the four members' first project, after a short hiatus of a year and 10 months.

Quoted from a Yonhap report on Monday, the entertainment agency YG Entertainment said the song and music video will be played on various music streaming services and YouTube on August 19 at 13:00 p.m. local time.

"The color combination that symbolizes BLACKPINK and the word 'venom' which means poison is very strong," said a representative of the agency.

Furthermore, last week, the group said in a teaser video that they would be releasing several songs from the highly anticipated album this month, before finally releasing the album in September.

In October, the group will embark on its biggest world tour to meet its international fans.

BLACKPINK's last release as a group was in October 2020 with their first full-length album titled The Album, which included the lead single Lovesick Girls and the pre-release track How You Like That.
