JAKARTA - Looking for a fun place to spend the weekend with your family? Try stopping at the Pagelaran Sabang Merauke Exhibition Premiere With Live Performance at the Djakarta Theater, Central Jakarta. The performance, which will involve hundreds of well-known Indonesian artists, will be held for three days, from 3 – 5 June 2022.

The Sabang Merauke - Premiere With Live Performance Performance at the Djakarta Theater is actually a series and continuation of a similar event that was previously held at the Prambanan Temple Court, Yogyakarta, on March 26, 2022. At that time, the Sabang - Merauke Performance succeeded in impressing the audience who were present through the performance. Various elements of regional art are beautifully presented on the stage with the spectacular Prambanan Temple as the backdrop.

Carrying the same concept but with new adjustments and touches, the Sabang Merauke Exhibition - Premiere With Live Performance again presented 21 folk songs and one national anthem which were arranged in harmony. To achieve this, the performance will involve five national singers, 46 traditional and modern musicians, and 135 professional dancers.

Before the show starts, the audience will be greeted by the Betawi Palang Pintu procession which is a symbol of Jakarta as the host. With a broadcast duration of 1 hour, the audience will enjoy the richness of Indonesian culture which is manifested in songs, clothing, and dances.

Soloist Kikan Namara learned many lessons from taking on the roles of lead singer and music director in this performance. "At first, I was hesitant, but this performance is intended to celebrate the diversity that exists in Indonesia. It is very important for children to know that Indonesia has a beautiful culture," she said after a preview appearance for the media, Thursday, June 2.

“This Sabang – Merauke performance has a very unique and different concept from what I have experienced in performing arts. We strive to present various elements of art from all over Indonesia as a unit that is not only entertaining, but we also hope that it can create a sense of pride in the nation's culture,” added the former vocalist for the band Cokelat.

In addition to performances at performances, we can also see selected UKM festivals held in the theater yard to raise the spirit of pride in the products of the nation's children. This SME festival involves various #banggalokal SMEs assisted by BCA as well as SMEs representing the iFortepreneur program, the Digital Business Plan Competititon program for SMEs from iForte.
