Four Used Corolla Toyota GRs Sold In Horribly Conditions

JAKARTA - Since debuting in March 2022, Toyota GR Corolla has become a favorite of automotive lovers among other hatchbacks thanks to its high performance.

But who would have thought that this new car had been sold in the used car market. Unfortunately, these four cars are in a pathetic condition, aka wrecked. From this incident, it seems that the ability to buy high-performance cars is not worth the driving ability.

According to a report from Drive Monday, October 23, four units of the Corolla GR were reportedly auctioned off in the US in a state of damage and registered on the Copart and IAAI auction sites. There are several variants offered from this model.

On the IAAI page, you can see a pair of black Corolla GRs: one Core variant unit and one Circuit Edition unit. The Core variant has an odometer with a figure of 11,646 km, but this car suffered severe damage to the front due to an accident.

Meanwhile, Circuit Edition type suffered heavy damage to the front as well as secondary damage to the right and left, with an odometer showing 11,952 km, and air bags expanding.

Two other Corolla GR units registered on the white Copart page are variant Core. The first unit has an odometer about 3,009 km with severe damage to the front. The second unit, with a distance of about 8,618 km, shows the front body panel has disappeared, although it can still be driven with images showing the interior airbag has not been installed.

This high-performance car is powered by a 1.6 liter lined 3-cylinder gasoline engine with the same turbocharged G16E-GTS as the one used by GR Yaris. With this engine, GR Corolla is capable of generating up to 300 dk of power and a torque of 360 Nm. Toyota claims this car can reach a speed of 100 km/h of silence in 5.3 seconds.

In Indonesia, the rivals of Honda Civic Type R will be available in 2024, although Toyota-Astra Motor (TAM) has not disclosed further specifications regarding the number of units presented.
