After GIIAS 2023, Mitsubishi Brings XForce To Surabaya

JAKARTA - After successfully introducing its newest SUV at the 2023 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS), namely XForce, a Japanese manufacturer Mitsubishi will introduce this five-seater SUV throughout Indonesia.

Mitsubishi distributor in Indonesia, PT Mitsubishi Motors Krama Yudha Sales Indonesia (MMKSI), will begin the inaugural local launch of XForce in Surabaya through the Mitsubishi Motors Auto Show (MMAS) exhibition which will take place on August 24-27, 2023.

Tetsuhiro Tsuchida, Director of the Sales and Marketing Division of PT MMKSI, revealed that consumers in Surabaya and its surroundings have an active lifestyle with high mobility needs, which is the Mitsubishi market target to introduce XForce further.

"In addition, the city of Surabaya has a fairly large compact SUV segment market, which contributes 52 percent to sales of compact SUVs in East Java and has the potential to be worked on by MMKSI with Mitsubishi XFORCE which offers various advantages," said Tsuchida in a statement on Thursday, August 24.

Mitsubishi XForce will be launched for the first time in Surabaya at Tunjungan Plaza 6, Surabaya, because the city is the capital city of East Java. East Java is a big contributor to Mitsubishi's sales with a share of 12 percent during January-July 2023.

The need for the people of East Java for a compact SUV is also high, with sales of this segment reaching around 275 units per month during the first seven months of 2023, or about 7 percent of total national sales.

At GIIAS 2023, MMKSI managed to record more than 3,700 units of Vehicle Ordering Letters (SPK), with the largest contribution coming from XForce, reaching 10,78 units.

Mitsubishi XForce will be produced locally by Mitsubishi Motors Krama Yudha Indonesia, located in Bekasi, West Java, and will be marketed in ASEAN countries, South Asia, Latin America, the Middle East, and Africa.

XForce offers a large space with a length of 4,390 mm, a width of 1,810 mm, and a height of 1,660 mm, as well as a capacity of five seats. This provides extraordinary performance and control, while maintaining uncompromised comfort through a wide interior space, fulfilling consumer expectations and desires.

Mitsubishi has introduced some of the flagship features to be included in its latest SUV ahead of launch. One of the interesting features is various driving modes, such as Normal, Gravel, Wet, and Mud.

In addition, Mitsubishi collaborated with Yamaha to present the audio system "Dynamic Sound Yamaha Premium," which will provide quality entertainment for car users.

Mitsubishi XForce will be powered by a 1.5 liter 4-cylinder DOHC 16 valve engine paired with CVT transmission that drives the front wheel (FWD). This machine is capable of generating 104 dk of power and torques reaching 141 Nm.

The price for the Mitsubishi XForce starts at IDR 379.9 million for the Exceed CVT variant, while the highest variant, Ultimate CVT, is priced at IDR 412.9 million.
