JAKARTA - Some time ago, an automotive manufacturer from Japan, Honda, introduced its first electric-powered car, namely Honda e.

This car has succeeded in attracting public attention with the technology it offers and its unique appearance. However, despite its success in presenting electric cars, Honda does not appear to be presenting the successor to this model.

Now, Honda is more focused on meeting market demand for SUVs. They are thinking about multiplying the model in this category. What's more, their latest electric SUV, e:Ny1, has received a positive response.

Rebecca Adamson, head of Honda UK, confirmed that market demand is currently focused on SUVs, so Honda will further encourage production in the segment.

"This is a series of products led by the market. As long as it is a market of interest, we will continue to prioritize SUVs," he said as quoted by Autocar, Tuesday, July 25.

In the SUV category, Honda relies heavily on e:Ny1, which is an EV version of Honda HR-V. With this model, Honda hopes that its sales in the UK will reach 22 percent by the end of 2024 or the equivalent of 7,500 vehicles.

Honda e:Ny1 is the latest crossover to enter the B SUV segment. This manufacturer offers e:Ny1 with a smooth and pleasant driving experience.

With the availability of e:Ny1 in the European market, this step is a logical step in continuing Honda's journey in the realm of electrification in Europe.

Based on the latest e:N Architecture platform developed by Honda, e:Ny1 has capabilities such as strong body structures, low gravity centers, and lower floor aerodynamics carefully arranged for drivers to have a pleasant driving experience.

This EV car platform combines power drive units that have high and light performance, electric motors, and gyrboks. This generates a power of 203 dk and a peak torque of 310 Nm.

Not only performance, but Honda e:Ny1 is also equipped with a lithium-ion 68.8 kWh battery that has impressive capabilities. With this, e:Ny1 has a range of up to 412 km according to the WLTP cycle, with DC's fast charging capability of 10 to 80 percent within 45 minutes.

Honda e:Ny1 will be marketed in European territory. However, it is possible that this version of the electricity from HR-V will be present in the Asian market in the future.
