Umay Shahab Reveals Reasons For Dare To Be A Director At The Age Of 22

JAKARTA - Little artist Umay Shahab is now seen changing professions to director behind the scenes of film. His career in the director's world actually started at the age of 15 with a short film titled "Love Behind the Clouds."

Now, Umay is increasingly active in his director's career. His success was seen when he started directing a long film that managed to attract the attention of 2 million viewers to the cinema with the film "Ku Kira Kau Rumah," starring Jourdy Pranata and Prilly Latuconsina.

On one occasion, Umay shared a story about the beginning of his career as a director, which started at a relatively young age, which was 22 years. The opportunity to get to know a director figure like Monty Tiwa and work with Prilly Latuconsina is a fortune in her journey to become a director.

"Maybe thank God I left from privilege I know Mr. Monty, I know Prilly, I was previously an actor and so maybe because there is something that can push me to this point," said Umay Shahab when met in Kuningan, South Jakarta, Thursday, September 14.

He further explained, in the end the most important thing is the intention to continue learning and prove yourself.

"When asked why I want it because I like it, as simple as that is the answer. Because it's fun to make works, put out statements in the form of audio visuals," he continued.

In addition, Muhammad Arfiza Shahab, Umay's real name, revealed that many have offered him to be a director outside the Sinemaku production house. However, at this time, Umay is more interested in collaborating with the production house that has offered him the project.

"Alhamdulillah, there are so many things, just now it just so happens that Sinemaku was founded by me too, so I think if we want to work together with, or I want to be withdrawn by another PH to do a project, there might be cooperation or collaboration between Sinemaku and PH. So because I'm exclusive to Sinemaku too, besides doing something, I can collaborate," he concluded.
