Studio Ghibli Releases Hayao Miyazaki's Last Film Trailer, The Boy And The Heron

JAKARTA - Studio Ghibli provided little information about Hayao Miyazaki's last film. They released a teaser trailer for their latest film, The Boy and the Heron, which is scheduled to air at the end of next year.

When it aired in Japan, Studio Ghibli did not carry out any promotions regarding this film other than revealing its title How Do You Live? They only stated that this film was the last film directed by Hayao Miyazaki before retiring.

This one-minute teaser opens with a Japanese view in the middle of World War II. Mahito Makak ( voiced by Soma Santoki) is looking for his mother in the crowd.

His life changed when Mahito had to move to the village to meet his father, Shoichi Makak (Takuya Kimura) who now works as an aircraft fighter for the Japanese military.

The film The Boy and the Heron was inspired by the 1937 novel How Do You Live by Genzaburo Yoshino. This film tells the story of Mahito who moves out of town after his mother dies in the middle of War.

Mahito learned to accept the departure of his mother and his new family. One day, he felt disturbed by a talking gray bird. Their meeting took Mahito to various new adventures in his life.

In addition to Soma Santoki and Takuya Kimura, The Boy and the Heron are also filled by Masaki Suda, Aimyon, Yoshino Kimura, Shohei Hino, Ko Shibasaki, Jun Kunimura,ena Kobayashi,men Takeshita, Jun Fubuki, and others.

Ghibli's studio initially did not provide promotional material like other films. They only showed one main poster showing a crane. Ahead of their release in the United States, they have just released the trailer.

The film The Boy and The Heron will air in the United States starting December 8. On the other hand, Studio Ghibli has not announced a release date in other parts of the country, including Indonesia.
