So Babileg, Opie Kumis Calls Many Who Don't Know Their Real Name

JAKARTA - Opie Kumis is the latest comedian to declare himself to run in the legislative elections in 2024. He plans to fight for the seat of the DKI Jakarta DPRD.

One thing that becomes a difficulty for Opie Kumis when introducing herself to his voters is the issue of name. He mentioned that many people do not know his birth name, which will be used in the election later.

"Obviously many don't know, because the real name is only on the KTP, Family Card, diploma, (original name) M. Luthfi," said Opie Kumis in Tendean, South Jakarta on Saturday, August 26.

"When I socialized in my electoral district, 'Oh, his real name is M. Luthfi?' Well, I just socialized with the community, so that people are close to M. Luthfi. That's my real name," he continued.

Opie Kumis does not know for sure what the KPU policy is regarding the name of the legislative candidate. He admitted that he had established communication about his name, and hoped to include his stage name. However, he is ready to accept any decision.

"Until now, I don't know. I have reported it to the KPU, M. Luthfi, whether it can be directly Opie Kumis or M. Luthfi can be in the bracket of Opie Kumis," said Opie Kumis.

"But until now I don't know which one is allowed, it can be directly Opie Kumis or not. So we just accept it as good as it is from the authorities," he added.

Regarding the number of artists who will compete in the upcoming 2024 elections, Opie sees it positively. He felt the artists were not rivals, but also artists' ways to provide other options for the community.

"I'm not competing here, huh. We have a lot of colors to fight over the hearts of the people, but to be close to society we have our respective strategies," said Opie Kumis.

"We don't have many promises, we just God willing. If later so we talk again, what are the complaints, we can overcome them together. If I am heavy myself, it will be the same," he said.
