Rhoma Irama's Hope Before Trying To Pick Up

JAKARTA - Sonnet Group frontman, Raden Haji Oma Irama or better known as Rhoma Irama has one hope that has not materialized. Before his death, the man who has been active in the entertainment world since 1958 hoped to establish a school.

At the age of 76, Rhoma Irama admitted that he was trying to establish an Islamic school which had been his obsession for a long time.

"Yes, that I am establishing an Islamic college. It is my obsession, God willing, God will allow it to stand before I return to Rahmatullah, hopefully," said Rhoma Irama to the media crew at Soneta Record, Depok on Tuesday, April 25.

For the school he is currently building, Rhoma Irama said the school is similar to other schools in general, but he wants dormitories for students.

"School, school (usual), boarding school is like that. In Karawang," he said.

Even so, Rhoma Irama did not want to talk in detail about the development stage of his school. He also admitted that he did not know how many percent of the construction had been carried out.

"It's still in the process (of development)," said Rhoma.

Once again he stated that if Allah wanted, the school would be completed before he died.

To fulfill his long-standing wish, Rhoma said he had the full support of his family, especially his children.

"Yes, definitely, definitely (the child supports and helps)," concluded Rhoma Irama.
