Lee Min Ho Enthusiastically Shows 80s Romanticism In Drama 'Pachinko'

JAKARTA - The drama Pachiko, starring Lee Min Ho, immediately absorbed the attention of drama fans. The series featured the first sensual scenes that Lee Min Ho acted in the first week of broadcasting.

It turned out that Lee Min Ho claimed to feel confident when playing the character Koh Hansu in his latest project Pachinko.

“Yeah (confident), there are many aspects that I can relate to when I read the script. Sometimes, there are characters who somehow I know why they say or do things like that in certain situations," said Lee Min Ho quoted from Soompi, Wednesday, April 6.

According to Lee Min Ho, reading scripts is the same as uploading a video on YouTube and not paying attention to how many views you get. Thus, the actor only needs to channel the expression he feels when reading a script.

“When you keep reading the script. It's the same with uploading a YouTube video and not paying too much attention to whether the video gets 1.000 or 10.000 views. I just had to execute and record the expressive passion that I really feel,” explained the actor.

Pachinko is a film set in the 80s. According to Lee Min Ho himself, quite a lot of people have romanticized and missed that era.

Therefore, he argues, that is why Hong Kong films from the 80s and 90s are still in great demand. Because films in that era had a very different emotional appeal from the current era.

"That's right. To my knowledge, quite a number of people romanticized Hong Kong films from that era. They miss him too. Even though I didn't experience that era, I think of it as a generation that is right on the border between analog and digital,” said Lee Min Ho.

"There are a lot of times when you lose analog emotion, where even though it's slow, you're forced to think about it one more time. When I see things that last like Hong Kong movies, I think you're reminded of a very different emotional appeal than it is now,” concluded Lee Min Ho.
