Wamenkop Wants To Return Jamkrindo And Ikopin To BLU

Deputy Minister of Cooperatives (Wamenkop) Ferry Juliantono revealed that his party plans to return PT Penjaminan Indonesia (Jamkrindo) and the Indonesian Cooperative Management Institute (Ikopin) to BLU Kemenkop.

"In the past, Jamkrindo belonged to us as the Ministry of Cooperatives' BLU, now it is released. We will try to return to our BLU," said Ferry, quoted on Friday, December 13.

That way, in the future, Ferry will encourage Jamkrindo to guarantee financing from cooperatives.

Regarding Ikopin, Ferry stated that his party had made efforts and discussed with the Bustanul Arifin family foundation, to become a BLU from the Ministry of Cooperatives.

"We will develop the programs, and Ikopin graduates will be involved as Bachelor of Cooperative Mobilization in providing assistance, guidance, and guidance to cooperatives throughout Indonesia so as not to become problematic cooperatives," explained Ferry.

In addition, he continued, the Ministry of Cooperatives will also digitize cooperatives, making it easier to form an inclusive financial system in which it includes LPDB, KSP, KUD Parent, and Copontren Parent.

"If we integrate this into one super apps, it can make cooperatives can quickly own cooperative banks," said the Deputy Minister of Cooperatives.

In the next one year. The Deputy Minister of Cooperatives believes in the establishment of a digital cooperative bank.

"This is to replace Bank Bukopin which has been released, it no longer belongs to the cooperative. Bukopin, which was founded by the main cooperative and Cooperative Movement, has now been released into the hands of a South Korean company," said Ferry.

"The point is, cooperatives must immediately have a bank," said Ferry.

Ferry also revealed that no later than March 2025 there was a new Cooperative Law. He considered that the previous law which was published in 1992 had been too long and was no longer relevant following the development of existing cooperatives.

"In the new Cooperative Law, there will be a Cooperative Deposit Guarantee Institution. Because, so far, members' savings have not been guaranteed. Meanwhile, in banking, there is already an LPS as a customer deposit guarantor," said the Deputy Minister of Cooperatives.
