The Wheel Of The Jabodebek LRT Is Badly Considered, Chairman Of IISIA: Yes, Just Repair It

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Indonesian Iron and Steel Industry Association (IISIA) Purwono Widodo also opened his voice regarding the light rail transit (LRT) which was deemed not to meet product standards.

The LRT pieces made by PT Industri Kereta Api (Persero) or INKA experienced wear-out after two months of operation.

Purwono said that Indonesia is in the learning stage to make quality and competitive products.

"Everything has learning (learning). If there seems to be an omission like a wear-out coefficient, yes, just fix it," he told reporters at the Kadin Tower, Jakarta, Monday, November 6.

He assessed that currently Indonesian producers are trying to make quality products, so it is only natural that there are still improvements and not to be compared to other developed countries.

"If you don't use the fall first, right, you can't wake up. If you directly compare it to Japan, it's not right," he said.

Furthermore, Purwono emphasized that there is a need for evaluation from all parties, including the producer of the LRT wheel itself.

"Yes, all of us, including the engineering. All of us, right, study. People (Indonesia) are smart, but that's if I'm wrong, yes, it's corrected," he said.

For your information, member of Commission VII DPR RI Mulyanto criticized the quality of the LRT pieces made by PT Industri Kereta Api (Persero) or INKA experiencing wear-out after two months of operation.

Mulyanto also asked the Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) and the Ministry of SOEs to strongly reprimand the state-owned company.
