Government Designs Food Social Assistance Scheme, Jokowi: If It's Ready, January To March We Give 10 Kg

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) stated that the government will again provide food assistance to beneficiary families (KPM) for the period January to March 2024.

"If it is ready, later January, February, March, we will also give 10 kg, 10 kg, 10 kg, next year," said President Jokowi as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, October 27.

Jokowi explained that the government is currently designing a scheme to provide rice reserve food assistance to be continued in 2024.

If the budget is available and sufficient, food aid will be distributed again in early 2024.

The President also prepared additional social assistance for recipients of the Family Hope Program (PKH) which was distributed in November and December in the amount of Rp. 400,000.

"Later we will see everything in your account later in November and December there will be a total transfer of Rp. 400,000," said Jokowi.

Meanwhile, when he handed over the food aid, Jokowi had a dialogue with one of the KPMs who questioned the fate of several of his neighbors who had not been registered as food aid recipients.

In fact, the neighbor is also not a recipient of the Family Hope Program (PKH).

"Can you or can you not get non-PKH (food assistance)?" asked one of the beneficiaries.

Jokowi said that every family that meets the requirements to get food assistance can register with the nearest government apparatus.

Gibran's father said the government had provided sufficient budget for the food assistance.

"Actually, in terms of budget, it is still there, but if it is not registered, the service will be wrong, it's a pity to blame the service later. So the procedure must still be followed, it must be registered, it must be listed on the list of existing lists," said President Jokowi.

Also accompanying the President in this event were Presidential Chief of Staff Moeldoko, President Director of Perum Bulog Budi Waseso, Governor of Lampung Arinal Djunaidi, and Mayor of Bandar Lampung Eva Dwiana.
