President Jokowi: KCJB Marks Efficient, Environmentally Friendly, And Integrated Mass Transportation Modernization

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo said the presence of the Jakarta-Bandung High Speed Train (KCJB) marked the modernization of mass transportation in the country.

"The Jakarta-Bandung Fast Train marks the modernization of our efficient, environmentally friendly, and integrated mass transportation with other modes of transportation as well as integrated with TOD, transit-oriented development," Jokowi said as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, October 2.

Jokowi added that KCJB is the first high-speed train in Indonesia and in Southeast Asia.

The train, at a speed of 350 km per hour, was named Right Because it was inspired by the flying sound of high-speed trains.

"This WHOsh is inspired by the flying sound of this high-speed train and also stands for time-saving, optimal operations, great systems," said Jokowi.

Meanwhile, Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, in his report at the inauguration of the high-speed train, said that initially many parties were pessimistic that the KCJB project would be completed.

However, said Luhut, the inauguration of the KCJB is proof that the fast train project can be completed and can be operated.

According to Luhut, this cannot be separated from good cooperation from all parties, including the central government, local governments, BUMN, the public, the private sector, and the Chinese government along with all companies from the country involved.

"And there are many more elements involved in collaborating to complete this project," said Luhut.
