Riding the Jakarta Bandung Fast Train Is No Longer Free Until September, Ticket Is Priced at IDR 300,000

JAKARTA - The Jakarta-Bandung Fast Train (KCJB) is currently still undergoing a free trial period for the general public.

KCJB services will start to be paid as of October 2023. The ticket price that will be charged to the public is proposed to be IDR 300,000.

PT KAI (Persero) Director of Strategic Planning and Business Development, John Robertho said that fast train rides will be paid when the free trial mass is over.

For your information, the fast train will provide free trials for the public in two stages. The first phase starts from 18 to 24 September 2023. The second phase starts from 25 to 30 September 2023.

"This is currently in the process with the regulator at DJKA, this is most likely October (starting to pay)," he said at the House of Representatives (DPR RI) Building, Senayan, Jakarta, written Wednesday, September 20.

However, unfortunately, John admitted that he could not confirm the exact date for KCJB's Commercial Operation Date (COD).

Even so, he explained that referring to previous plans, President Joko Widodo or Jokowi would inaugurate KCJB operations on October 1, 2023.

At the same time, John admitted that his party was still waiting for the issuance of an operating permit from the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub).

“Later COD in October. Wait for the date from the government. "When will the Ministry of Transportation complete the trials, then the operation permit will be issued, we will wait for them to be precise," he explained.

Bundling ticket prices are priced at IDR 350,000

Regarding KCJB ticket rates, John said that currently there has been no official decision on how much the KCJB ticket price will be. Even so, John said that his party had submitted a proposal to the Ministry of Transportation.

Furthermore, John said that the ticket price which will take effect in October 2023 is proposed to be IDR 300,000 for premium economy class without including LRT and Feeder Train costs.

Meanwhile, continued John, bundling tickets with the LRT and Feeder Train are proposed for IDR 350,000 for one trip.

“Around IDR 300,000 to IDR 350,000. That's economy class. "If you want to bundle, it's IDR 350,000," he said.
