Valid January 1, 2025, Tangerang City UMK Increases 6.5 Percent

TANGERANG - To the Tangerang City Manpower Office (Kadis), Hendra Gunawan, revealed that the Tangerang City Minimum Wage (UMK) was agreed to increase 6.5 percent or to Rp5,069,708.

This agreement has been decided by the City Wage Council (Depeko) of Tangerang City, and signed by the Governor of Banten.

"We have agreed from the submission that we made for our UMK to increase by 6.5 percent, the total is IDR 5,069,708," said Ujang when confirmed on Sunday, December 21.

He said that the increase in the UMK would take effect on January 1, 2025.

However, if his party accepts reports of companies that do not carry out the UMK decision, they will be given strict sanctions in accordance with the Regulation of the Minister of Manpower (Permenaker).

In the Regulation of the Minister of Manpower (Permenaker), non-compliant company sanctions are sanctions in the form of imprisonment for 1 to 4 years or a fine of Rp. 100 million to Rp. 400 million in accordance with Law (UU) Number 6 of 2023 Article 88E paragraph 2 in conjunction with Article 185.

"Yes, in accordance with applicable regulations, both Government Regulations (PP) and the Minister of Manpower will be sanctioned. We will monitor the Manpower Office, while the supervision is in the City Supervisory Board," he concluded.
