Bulog Cancels Disposal Of 1 Kilogram SPHP Rice

JAKARTA - President Director of Perum Bulog Budi Waseso said his party would not issue 1 kilogram (kg) of packaged food and price stabilization rice (SPHP). This is because the government has provided food assistance in the form of 10kg rice.

"Because now there is 10 kg of food assistance from the government per kpm, we will withdraw it for 1 kg. We will not realize it," he said at Lotte Mart, Pasar Rebo, East Jakarta, Friday, September 8.

Initially, the man who is familiarly called Buwas said this discourse arose to accommodate people who were unable to buy 5 kg of packaged rice.

"Yesterday there was a discourse that we would prepare rice with 1 kg of packaged rice yesterday, yesterday we will do the discourse if there is no food assistance. So to overcome community brothers who are unable to buy 5 kg," he said.

Previously, it was reported that the Public Company of the Logistics Affairs Agency (Perum Bulog) planned to issue food stabilization rice and food prices (SPHP) for mini or 1 kilogram (kg) packaging.

Bulog President Director Budi Waseso said this mini-packaged rice was intended for people who could not afford 5 kg of packaging.

"Bulog will later make packaging which is 1kg. So people who later can't buy 5kg, we will give the 1kg later," he said at Perumnas Klender Market, East Jakarta, Monday, August 28.

Actually, continued Buwas, Bulog had previously produced rice with 1 kg of packaging. However, at that time, many people did not need the rice. Thus, Bulog decided to cancel it.

I used to make 1kg and 250 grams of it. I made it, but it turns out that people don't need it. Now maybe we need it now, we can hold it again," he said.

Even so, Buwas admitted that for the time being his party will focus on 5 kg of packaged rice. The reason is, the packaged rice is needed by the community.
