Jabodebek LRT Inaugurates, Minister Of Transportation Budi Karya: We Must Be Proud, 90 Percent Made By Children Of The Nation

Minister of Transportation (Menhub) Budi Karya Sumadi said the Jabodebek LRT is a form of public transportation with increasingly advanced technology.

Therefore, he said, Indonesia should be proud of the presence of this mode of transportation.

The reason, continued Budi, is that the Jabodebek LRT is a mode of transportation by the nation's children.

The mass transportation was just inaugurated by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) this morning.

"We must be proud because this is done by the nation's children. 90 percent of the products of the nation's children," he said as quoted by YouTube, the Presidential Secretariat, Jakarta, Monday, August 28.

Budi said, the operation of the Jabodebek LRT for the community indicates that transportation in Indonesia is increasingly advanced.

Today is a historic day because the mode of light rapid transit or integrated highway transportation (LRT Jabodebek) can finally be inaugurated. Alhamdulillah, this is a great achievement of development in the increasingly advanced transportation sector," he said.

Jabodebek LRT Safe

Meanwhile, Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir ensured that Jabodebek LRT transportation, which is run without a driver or driverless driver, is safe to use.

Therefore, he said, the public does not need to worry about the safety aspect of public transportation.

"This is a technological progress that I think some people are still nervous. Technology has been carried out without a driver, that doesn't mean it's not safe," he said.

Erick said the train that was traveling without a driver was an acceleration of technological advances that could be used for public transportation.

"Why since yesterday we have synchronized the system so that it (contains) public safety," he said.
