Ministry Of Industry Collapses Human Resources Of The National Textile Industry

The Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) is said to continue to strive to revive the performance of the textile and textile product (TPT) industry in order to contribute more to the national economy.

Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita said the TPT industry is classified as a labor-intensive and export-oriented sector. This is because this sector significantly contributes USD 13.83 billion worth of exports in 2022 with a total employment of 3.65 million people.

"In order to improve the performance of the TPT industrial sector, the efforts that need to be made include maintaining the availability of raw materials, expanding markets, optimizing the use of domestic products, and strengthening competent industrial human resources," he said in a written statement today, Sunday, August 27.

According to the Minister of Industry, as an effort to spur the development of competent industrial human resources, the government through the Industrial Human Resources Development Agency (BPSDMI) already has a strategic program in the implementation of vocational training and education.

"We have adapted the curriculum, provided appropriate infrastructure, strengthened the skills certification system, developed teaching facilities, improved teaching staff skills, and provided teaching staff in the workplace," he said.

On the same occasion, the Head of BPSDMI Masrokhan revealed that the vocational education unit under the guidance of the Ministry of Industry's BPSDMI which focuses on providing superior textile industry human resources, namely AK-Tekstil Solo. This campus organizes an equivalent education program for Diploma II, consisting of three study programs, namely Benang Making Engineering, Cloth Making Engineering and Garment Making Engineering.

"Through this meeting of industrial partners, it is hoped that it will be able to bridge the gap between the world of education and industry and produce graduates who are competent and ready to work in the industry, especially the TPT sector," he said.

Masrokhan also said that his party was focused on organizing educational programs and vocational training with the motto One vote unit, one great achievement.

"We encourage educational units under the Ministry of Industry to achieve at least one big achievement that can be proud of, and can benefit the surrounding community," he added.

For AK-Tekstil Solo, BPSDMI Kemenperin targets to get the title of Corruption-Free Region (WBK) and ISO Certificate 21001: 2018 in 2023.

"Thanks to the close cooperation between partner companies and AK-Tekstil Solo, we are confident that we can achieve success in improving the quality of human resources, industrial competitiveness, and the contribution of the TPT industry to regional and national economic growth," he concluded.
