Arya Sinulingga Opens His Voice About The Garuda Group Merger With Pelita Air

JAKARTA - The staff of the Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Arya Sinulingga opened their voices regarding the plan to merge state-owned airlines. He said the Ministry of SOEs wanted to unite management in one industry.

As is known, the Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir plans to merge or merge the Garuda Group, in this case Garuda Indonesia and Citilink, with Pelita Air.

"The Minister has said that, this is good because Mr. Erick wants one management for one industry. So we have three, there are Garuda, Citilink, and Pelita. So there is enough management to manage everything even though it will be divided later," said Arya at the Ministry of SOEs, Jakarta, Wednesday, August 23.

However, Arya emphasized that the merger or merger of this state-owned airline does not mean that it has merged into one.

"It's not a merger, it's a Garuda name, no. Citilink is still there, we don't know where Pelita will be," he said.

Even so, Arya admitted that he did not know for sure the form of the merger. Including whether this merger will resemble the merger of Pelindo.

"Yes, where is the inbreng, whether the inbreng is to Garuda, whether the inbreng is to Citilink, we don't know. Is he like a subholding, we don't know yet, it's still being studied," he explained.

Arya said discussions about the merger of the three companies were still ongoing. Even so, he ensured that this merger would not merge the three companies into one.

"Earlier I said, he didn't melt it, but whether he merged it into Garuda, whether it merged into Citilink, or he had one identity too, but under Garuda we don't know," he said.
