JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Agency cooperates with the Indonesian Creative Property Intellectual Association (AIPI) to hold the 2023 Intellectual Property Character Festival with the theme Urban Art Unleashed.

The festival, which is located in Monas Park, was held by showing off a number of intellectual property (IP) characters from August 19 to September 3, 2023.

"We want to show the Indonesian people that intellectual property is not only a matter of copyright, but also about how this work can inspire and encourage the growth of the creative industry in our country," said Head of the DKI Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Agency Andhika Permata at the inauguration of FKKI in Jakarta, Saturday 19 August.

He added that this event was a form of celebration of the creation and innovation of Indonesia's creative intellectual property which was held in the hearts of the city of Jakarta.

Andhika also invited all Jakarta residents to come and witness Indonesia's intellectual property in the most authentic form.

"Let's support and appreciate the creation of the nation's children," he added.

Meanwhile, Chairman of the Indonesian Creative Property Intellectual Association (AIPI) Erlan Arisandi Prabowo said he hoped that this Intellectual Property Character Festival could present talented young talents.

"This festival is expected to be a place of interaction between creators, industry stakeholders, and the general public, as well as a platform for young creators to explore and introduce their works," said Erlan.

According to him, the loss of Indonesia's intellectual property potential is no longer a secret. Various local brands can now even host in their own country.

This exhibition will present 15 well-known Indonesian Creative Intellectual Property such as Trungtung, Ticket Fickle, Fun Cican, Gugug!, B Advertising, Ancient, Mora & Olfi, Nomnomsters, Volt, Lightning, Adventure of Sherina 2, Vernalta, Dalang Pelo, Balpil, Mice Cartoon.

Visitors will be able to get acquainted directly from each character.

"We also presented a special installation inspired by the State Palace in the National Capital," Erlan continued.

In addition to displaying 15 brands, he said, the Intellectual Property Character Festival also aims to encourage the emergence of talented young creators.

"Thus, the new generation of Indonesian creators can continue to innovate and provide new colors in the global creative industry arena," concluded Erlan.
