JAKARTA - PT Freeport Indonesia (PTFI) is reported to be meeting with the Ministry of Finance to discuss the export duty regulations that were just signed by the Minister of Finance through (PMK) Number 71 of 2023.

Head of the Fiscal Policy Agency (BKF) Febrio Kacaribu emphasized that PTFI does not need to hold a meeting or meet with the Ministry of Finance because the regulations that apply are in accordance with statutory requirements.

"I don't think it's necessary. The statutory requirements are clear. We'll see and evaluate together," Febrio told the media at the Directorate General of Taxes building quoted on Thursday, August 17.

Febrio also referred to Government Regulation Number 37 of 2018 concerning Tax Treatment and Non-Tax State Revenue in the Mineral Mining Business Sector.
