The Reconstruction Of The Bogor Cikereteg Bridge Is Targeted To Be Completed In October 2023

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) is targeting the reconstruction of the Cikereteg Bridge on Jalan Ciawi-Benda, Bogor Regency, West Java, to be completed in October 2023.

The permanent repair of the Cikereteg Bridge was carried out by the DKI Jakarta-West Jakarta National Road Implementation Center (BBPJN) of the Directorate General of Highways by replacing the entire bridge span structure, namely the west side of stage 1 and the east side of stage 2.

The bridge was built with a span of 50.8 meters (m) and a total width of 13 m.

The bridge structure in the form of a PCI girder with the number of boregle 42 bridge construction points has been carried out by the implementing contractor PT Brantas Abipraya (Persero) since the SPMK was issued on December 8, 2022 and its changes.

The construction work is targeted for completion in October 2023 with a APBN budget draft of IDR 56.9 billion.

The overall construction progress until August 1, 2023, namely the stage 1 bridge has reached 99.2 percent, and stage 2 has reached 8.22 percent. Thus, the cumulative handling of the Cikereteg Bridge has reached 46.96 percent.

PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono said connectivity between regions is needed so that the mobility of goods, services, and human beings is more efficient.

With smoother connectivity, it is hoped that it can increase regional economic growth, so that it can help accelerate development in the region.

"The construction of bridge infrastructure, flyovers, and underpasses will facilitate connectivity and traffic accessibility, in addition to providing alternatives for residents to increase economic productivity," Basuki said in a press release, Thursday, August 3.

During the construction period, the Ministry of PUPR has installed Bailey's bridge as an emergency response after the landslide disaster to support smooth traffic flow.

People from Bogor to Sukabumi or vice versa can also pass through alternative routes that have been prepared, namely, the Bogor-Ciawi-Sukabumi (Bocimi) Toll Road and other alternative routes such as Tapos-Pasar Cikereteg.

The existing condition of the Cikereteg Bridge is a road body with a pile height of 20 meters above the culvert structure of a 5 m diameter brick pair estimated to be over 100 years old (the Dutch colonial period).

The high intensity of rain and increasing river discharge at the location of the Cikereteg bridge from November 2022 to February 2023 caused a scoring in the downstream culverts, thus disrupting the stability of slopes beside the road which resulted in landslides on the National Road in Ciderum Village, Caringin District, Bogor, to be precise at KM 3+900.
