The Jabodebek LRT Longspan Called Salah Design, Jokowi: If There Is A Correction, It Will Be Improved

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) said that the Jabodebek LRT project was carried out by itself and the trains were produced domestically by PT INKA. Therefore, if in the process there are those who need corrections, it will be corrected. Such as the long-spantriction from Gatot Subtroto to Kuningan which is called a misdesign.

This was conveyed by Jokowi after trying out the Jabodebek LRT from Hajarmukti Station to Dukuh Atas this morning. Jokowi was also accompanied by SOE Minister Erick Thohir.

"I say, this is the first LRT to be done. So if there is a correction, we will fix it, but don't like looking for mistakes because mistakes must exist because this is the first time," he said, in Jakarta, Thursday, August 3.

Furthermore, the former Governor of DKI Jakarta said that the Jabodebek LRT and the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed train were the first new modes of transportation in Indonesia. So, if there is a shortage, it is a natural thing.

"MRT, the LRT is also the first time we have built it. This is the first time everyone has built it. The high-speed train is also the first time in Indonesia, so if there is a shortage, there is something that needs to be corrected so that it is natural," he said.

"Don't expect everything to be perfect immediately, because there must be system improvements, technical improvements, and others," he continued.

Jokowi also admitted that he was proud because the Jabodebek LRT was made domestically. Starting from the trains carried out by PT INKA, and the construction carried out by Adhi Karya.

"And this (train) is the production of INKA, the construction is done by ourselves. So if there is less, it must be understood, but it must still be repaired," he said.

Even so, Jokowi emphasized that the Jabodebek LRT project was carried out with a calculation and a definite plan.

"Everything is planned for all of us to count, but in the field but there are adjustments, there are adjustments, there are adjustments, I think it's normal," he said.

For your information, the Jabodebek LRT is targeted to operate this year. However, this project has a record of wrong construction design on the longspan or long span arch bridge from Gatot Subroto to Kuningan.

The fault was allegedly from the tilt angle of the train. Because, at that time the bridge had been built by PT Adhi Karya (Persero) Tbk (ADHI), but no tests were carried out first.

Because of this wrong design, the bend is narrow. Thus, the Jabodebek LRT train must reduce speed when crossing the bend.

If the bend is wider, the LRT can turn while the speed up. However, because it was already there, the LRT had to run only 20 km per hour when it was stuck.
