JAKARTA - The Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) through the Directorate General of Railways (DJKA) ensures that the renewal of the Jabodebek LRT operating software is almost complete. That way, limited trials with passengers can be carried out again.

Director General of Railways, Risal Wasal, said that currently the process of updating the Jabodebek LRT operating software has entered the stage of improving the integration system between facilities and the Passenger Screen Door (PSD) gate on the station platform.

Risal explained that the software updating carried out on the Jabodebek LRT includes updating the Automatic Train Supervison (ATS) system and Trainguard Mass Transit (TMGT) which play a role in maintaining distance, and inter-train intervals when operated in driveless mode.

Furthermore, Risal said the two systems were needed for the operation of trains with an automation level or Grade of Automation or (GoA) level 3 to ensure the safety and security of train travel.

System Integration Testing

Risal said, to ensure the readiness of this post-distribution system, DJKA will also carry out system integration testing today, Thursday 27 July to Friday 28 July 2023 before the Jabodebek LRT is declared ready to transport public passengers.

"We will review the results of the trial run carried out by fellow operators first while waiting for the process of improving the platform's door integration system to be completed for all facilities," said Risal.

Risa said that if the entire process of preparation, testing, and trial runs smoothly, it is hoped that it can be continued immediately with a limited trial with passengers.
