Up 53 Percent, Long Distance Train Customer Volume Reaches 18 Million In Sementer I-2023

JAKARTA - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) recorded the volume of long-distance train customers in Semester I 2023, namely 19 million customers. There was an increase of 53 percent compared to Semester I 2022, namely 12.5 million customers.

KAI's VP of Public Relations Joni Martinus said this increase was supported by the easing of the COVID-19 pandemic and the relaxation of travel requirements in early 2023.

Joni said, this increase in customer volume was carried out in various ways. Among them are routinely holding cheap train ticket promos and attractive prizes.

For example, such as promos in the Semester I 2023 period such as promos for New Year Deals, discounts of up to 20 percent in April and May, discounts of up to 25 percent in June, and KAI Access Ramadan Festive 2023 for Lebaran Transport departures.

In addition to offering tickets at promo rates in that period, said Joni, KAI also provides attractive opportunities for customers to get free train tickets, stay at free hotels, to free Umrah prizes. These programs have been socialized through KAI's mass media and social media.

In Semester I 2023, continued Joni, there were also changes in conditions for using trains. Where starting June 12, 2023, long-distance train and local trains customers are allowed not to wear masks if they are in good health and are not at risk of contracting or transmitting COVID-19.
