JAKARTA - Food SOE Holding ID FOOD participated in the activities of the Cheap Food Movement (GPM) simultaneously initiated by the National Food Agency (Bapanas) on June 26, 2023, at more than 300 locations spread across 37 provinces and 296 regencies/cities in Indonesia.

Through the activity which was held ahead of the Religious and National Holidays (HBKN) Eid al-Adha 1444 H, it was carried out in order to meet the availability of basic foodstuffs and people's purchasing power for food commodities.

ID FOOD President Director Frans Marganda Tambunan said that during this year's Cheap Food Movement activity, ID FOOD participated in 31 provinces with distributions at 75 Regency/City points throughout Indonesia. The commodities sold include rice, sugar, flour, and cooking oil.

Frans added that all food products sold in GPM activities some time ago were below market prices or did not exceed the Purchase/Sales Reference Price (HAP) and the Highest Retail Price (HET) that had been set. This is in accordance with the initial objective of implementing the GPM, which is to provide affordable food for the community.

"We are involved in 31 provinces with distribution at 75 regencies/cities throughout Indonesia with the aim of stabilizing food prices ahead of the HBKN. The distribution of the 75 points is in the ID FOOD office network," said Frans in his official statement, Monday, July 3.

According to him, ID FOOD Group regularly also participates in activities organized by the City/Regency Level Food Security Service outside the implementation of GPM simultaneously.

For information ahead of Eid al-Fitr 1444 H ago, ID FOOD played an active role in efforts to maintain supply stability and food prices for the community. The ID FOOD effort received appreciation from Commission VI of the DPR during a Hearing Meeting that discussed related issues.

"In principle, as a Food SOE Holding, we are always ready to be involved in every Bapanas activity which aims to provide affordable food price stabilization for the community," said Frans.
